Toilets are crucial for the healthy development of people, not to mention children. So is sanitation – facilities and services for safe disposal of human urine and feces include maintaining hygiene through services such as garbage collection and wastewater disposal.
Caring hearts Uganda pay surprise visits to schools where we have our Latrine building and water tank installation projects going on like Kapkwata Secondary school, a government-funded education center serving the majority of internally displaced boys and girls living in Rwanda camp which harbors over 6000 people today in Kween district, Sebei region.
Displaced by NFA ( National Forestry Authority) twenty years ago, over 2000 homeless Sebei people were given private property by one generous man who offered them a temporary place to settle on a rock of almost one acre. This rock has been home to many for so long a time and the government of Uganda is yet to relocate the displaced.
We visited the school and when shared our experience with our friends; some offered to build some latrines for the girls boarding section since they were much needed and this is the progress so far.
Caring Hearts Uganda wishes to truly deeply thank all those who continue to contribute towards our WASH projects around the country. May God bless you all.
